heavy-duty motor with separate power and control connections. Typically power for such a Servo-
Motor will the same twelve or twenty-four vdc that the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 thrives on. Connect the
motor as shown in its instructions. The PWM input (the part that connects to the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/
40
) is still likely to be run at five vdc, rather than the higher voltage that the ServoMotor is run at.
Check the specifications for the motor you are using before you run twelve to twenty-four vdc into
the PWM input on the ServoMotor.

J8 ʻAʼ, ʻBʼ, ʻCʼ & ʻDʼ inputs (Sd-50/8, Sd-50/40)

These are four non-polarized optically isolated digital inputs which can be used to start, stop,

pause or select specific show sequences to play on the Show Control of the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40.

Any event can be triggered on either the ‘closing’ or ‘opening’ edge of any input. A ‘closing’ is when you

apply a voltage to an input. An ‘opening’ is when that voltage is removed. The inputs can be triggered on
any voltage from five to twenty-four vdc. If you don’t have an external source of power for these two inputs,
you can ‘steal’ some juice from the Sd-50/8s or Sd-50/40s power supply connections. Conveniently, there
are ‘power’ screw terminals immediately adjacent. You can pick up whatever power is being used to run the
Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 from these two screw terminals.
