The Show Control data is normally output on the Show Control Outputs, MPU Control channel, Audio Level
control channels, and
. The show data is typically programmed using our PC•MACs software, and
downloaded to the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 through the RS-232 serial port or Sd/MMC flash card.
Although the flash memory has a capacity for 512 channels of data to be stored on it, this would limit your show
capacity to about four minutes (at 30 updates per second). More typically, a Sd-50/8 (without DMX-512 output) will
need one or two channels of data stored on it. This will give a capacity of nineteen hours for show data storage in
the Flash memory (at 30 FPS). A Sd-50/40 (without DMX-512 output) will need one to six channels of show data
stored on it. This will give a capacity of over six hours for show data storage in the Flash memory (at 30 FPS). If you
are using the DMX-512 outputs, this can add between one and 512 more channels of data that need to be stored,
and will reduce the available capacity accordingly.

Enable Animation From Flash
This checkbox is normally left ‘checked’. If it is unchecked, it will disable the playback of anima-
tion data from the Flash memory.
!
Disable Outputs When Stopped
This checkbox is normally left ‘unchecked’. If it is checked, it will disable the Show Control out-
puts if there is no show running on the Show Control side of the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40. This feature
is used if there is a chance that a show will be stopped in the middle, and it may damage some-
thing that the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 is controlling if the outputs are left on for an extended period of
time.
!
Write Protect Flash Memory
This checkbox allows you to ‘lock’ the Show Control Flash memory against accidental erasure.
If this is checked, then any downloads or writes to the flash will be ignored.
