vidual shows can be requested with a range of 01 to FFH. Once a show is selected, it will be played on the
next serial port START or LOOP command.

If a show selection has been made inadvertently, it can be cleared by sending a request for show num-

ber 00.

A special mode is available with this command for users who just need to trigger audio files through the

serial port. If NO shows are loaded onto the Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40, This command will start the selected
audio track immediately. No additional ‘start’ or ‘play’ commands are needed to start the sounds playing.

Select Sound Global: “^u” [nn] (sound#)

Up to two hundred fifty-five different sounds can be stored on a single Sd-50/xx. These commands can

be used to select an individual sound on the selected Sd-50/0(s), Sd-50/8(s) or Sd-50/40(s). Individual
sounds can be requested with a range of 01 to FFH. Once a sound is selected, it will be played immedi-
ately. The sound number must be entered as a two digit hexadecimal number.

To type these commands from the keyboard of your computer, hold down the key before typ-

ing the character ‘t’ or ‘u’, then enter the card address [nn] (usually ‘00’) (address is not needed for the
‘global’ command), and the desired SoundFile in hex (‘00’ to ‘FF’).

10)! Volume Command: “^v” [nn] (Card Address) [vv] (Volume)

This command is used to control the level of the audio output through the serial port. Volume control

from the

DMX-512

data must be enabled in the

Mp3 Config.exe

’ program for this command to have any

effect. The assigned DMX-512 channels will only have an effect until this command is received for the first
time. After that, the DMX-512 channel will be ignored. Both the left and right outputs are set to the same
volume levels.

To type this command form the keyboard of your computer, hold down the key before typing

the character ‘v’, then enter the card address [nn] (usually ‘00’), and the desired volume in hex (‘00’ to ‘FF’).

11)! Show Pause Commands

!

!

Pause Show: “<” [nn] (card address)

!

!

Continue Show: “>” [nn] (card address)

Any show and audio can be paused at any point during its playback. The outputs are frozen at the lev-

els they were at the instant the PAUSE command is received.

The CONTINUE command will resume any show playing which has previously been PAUSED.

Repeated pausing and un-pausing of the show and sound can cause the audio and show playback to

drift apart. Overuse of these commands should be avoided if this is important to your application.
