Chapter 13
Content Filtering Screens
This chapter provides a brief overview of content filtering.
13.1 Content Filtering Overview
Internet content filtering allows schools and businesses to create and enforce Internet access policies tailored
to their needs. Content filtering is the ability to block certain web features or specific URLs and should not
be confused with packet filtering via SMT menu 21.1.
13.1.1 Restrict Web Features
The ZyWALL can block web features such as ActiveX controls, Java applets, cookies and disable web
proxies.
13.1.2 Filter List
You can select categories, such as pornography or racial intolerance, to block or monitor from a pre-
defined list. There is a period of free use of the list when you register the ZyWALL. After this period,
you must subscribe to the list periodically.
13.1.3 Days and Times
The ZyWALL also allows you to define time periods and days during which content filtering should be
enabled.
13.2 Configuring Categories
Click CONTENT FILTER to open the Categories screen.
