Corded Buttonhole
0 Stitch pattern: BH1
( 2) Thread tension dial: AUTO
® R; Automatic buttonhole foot
Use this procedure when you want to achieve a tailored,
more attractive raised buttonhole .
Use fiiier cord (at least 10 inches of heavy thread).
Try a practice buttonhole first.
Q] Set the automatic buttonhole foot R on the foot holder.
El With the buttonhole foot raised, hook the filler cord
on the spur at the back of the buttonhole foot.
E Bring the ends toward you under the buttonhole foot
until they clear the front end,
E] Hook the fiiier cord into the forks on the front of foot
R to hold them tight.
H] Lower the needle into the garment where the button
bole will start and lower the foot.
U] Sew the buttonhole according to the buttonhole
sewing instructions on Page 66
¡7] Remove the fabric from the machine and cut the
sewing threads.
I Puil the left end of the filler cord to tighten it.
! Thread the end of the filler cord through a darning
needle, draw to the bottom side of the fabric and cut.
