Chapter 17 Multicast Configuration

17.3.4 Creating a New Multicast VLAN

Follow the steps below to create a new multicast VLAN.

1 In the MVR screen, click Add under MVLAN. A screen displays as shown.

2 Select Active to enable this multicast VLAN setting.

3 In the Name field, enter a descriptive name (up to 32 ASCII characters) for identification

purposes.

4 Specify a VLAN ID in the Multicast VLAN ID field. Enter a number between 1 and

4094.

5 In the Mode field, select Dynamic to send IGMP reports to all MVR source ports in the

multicast VLAN. Select Compatible to set the switch not to send IGMP reports.

6 In the Source Port list box, select the MVR source port that sends and receives multicast

traffic.

7 In the Receiver Port list box, select the port(s) that only receives multicast traffic.

8 In the None list box, select the port(s) not to participate in MVR. No MVR multicast

traffic is sent or received on the port(s).

9 In the Tagging list box, select the port(s) to add the VLAN ID tag to all outgoing frames.

10Click OK to save the settings and close this screen. Otherwise, click Cancel to discard

the settings and close this screen.

Add

Click Add to add a new entry.

Modify

Click Modify to change the settings of the selected MVR.

Delete

Click Delete to remove the selected MVR.
