Select the router ID configured with the router id command;
z
Select the highest IP address among the IP addresses of loopback interfaces as the router ID:
z
If no loopback interface IP address is available, the highest IP address among the IP addresses of
physical interfaces is selected as the router ID (regardless of the interface state).
z
If the interface whose IP address is the router ID is removed or modified, a new router ID is
selected. Other events, (the interface goes down; after a physical interface’s IP address is
selected as the router ID, an IP address is configured for a loopback interface; a higher interface
IP address is configured) will not trigger router ID re-selection.
z
A VPN instance selects a router ID among the IP addresses of interfaces belonging to it according
to the preceding procedure.
z
When a master/backup switchover occurs, the backup device selects a router ID according to the
preceding procedure.
z
After a router ID is changed, you need to use the reset command to make it effective.
