General Maintenance
A. Boom Chain Tension Check
(1000 Hour Intervals)
1. Park the vehicle on level ground. Place the travel select lever in (N)
NEUTRAL, engage the parking brake switch and raise the boom to
a horizontal position. Retract the boom completely and shut the
vehicle OFF.
2. Measure the distance between the inner boom and the intermedi-
ate boom (Figure 100). The inner boom should extend 2.25”
(57mm) to 2.75” (70mm) beyond the end of the intermediate boom.
If the measurement is less than 2.25” (57mm) or more than 2.75”
(70mm) the chain requires adjustment.

NOTE: If the boom measurement cannot be adjusted within this range, the
boom may require extensive adjustment and/or repair. Contact your autho-
rized
