B. Axle Oil Change

(1000 Hour Intervals)

1. Level the vehicle, ground the carriage, place the travel select lever

in (N) NEUTRAL, engage the parking brake switch and shut off the
engine.

2. Clean the area around the axle drain plug and the axle fill/level plug

(see Figure 89 on previous page).

3. Place a receptacle under the axle drain plug. Remove the plug from

the axle housing and allow the oil to drain completely.

4. Transfer the oil to a container with a cover and label the container

as used oil. Dispose of properly.

5. Clean off the drain plug and re-install. Remove the axle fill/level plug

from the axle housing.

6. Fill the axle with SAE 80W90 or SAE 80W140 Oil through the axle

fill/level hole until oil level is even with the plug hole. The axle
capacity is 9.5 quarts (8,9 liters).

7. Re-install axle fill/level plug into axle housing.

A. Wheel End Oil Level Check

(250 Hour Intervals)

1. Position the vehicle on level ground, move the vehicle forward or

backward enough to ensure that the oil level line (Figure 90) is posi-
tioned horizontally.

2. Ground the carriage, place the travel select lever in (N) NEUTRAL,

engage the parking brake switch and shut off the engine.

3. Clean the area around the wheel end fill/drain plug. Slowly remove

the plug. Check the oil level.

DO NOT perform service or maintenance on this vehicle with the engine
running. Contact with moving parts can cause serious injury or death.
