This is probably the most common configuration. Plug one end of
a telephone cable into the WorkCentre’s
Line
connector, and the
other end into the wall outlet. Plug the extension telephone into
the EXT connector
. The PC printer port is connected to the
WorkCentre’s printer port with the Xerox supplied printer cable.
The WorkCentre is set up at the factory to automatically answer an
incoming call. If you do not want the WorkCentre to answer the
phone, set the
Receive mode
to
TEL
. At the control panel, press
the Receive button (until TEL displays).
Or, you may want to leave the
Receive mode
on
Fax
, but
increase the number of rings before the WorkCentre answers the
call. At the control panel, press the following keys:
MENU, SYSTEM DATA, UP ARROW 7 TIMES (until
ANSWER ON RINGS displays)
Next, enter the number of times the telephone will ring before the
WorkCentre answers the call (
1 - 7
), and press the STOP button.
Connect an extension telephone to the EXT connector on the
WorkCentre.
