Install CVFS client software on the UIM-SAN-FCIP
Use the following sections to install, license, and configure the CVFS client software
on the UIM-SAN-FCIP.
Install CVFS client software on the UIM
Use the following steps to install the CVFS client software on the UIM-SAN-FCIP.
This procedure requires the CVFS setup program located on the Open SAN File
System CD-ROM or downloaded from the Thomson Grass Valley FTP site.
NOTE: Be sure to install the correct client software version. The software version
must match the CVFS software running on the File System Manager (FSM) in the
Open SAN system.
To install the file system client software:
1. First verify the UIM-SAN-FCIP Fibre Channel connection to the shared storage
disks using the following steps.
a. Right-click the computer icon on the desktop, then select Manage .
b. Select Device Manager in the tree.
c. Expand Disk drives.
d. Verify that the LUNs in the SCSI fabric are displayed.
The UIM-SAN-FCIP must “see” the physical drives at the SCSI level in order
to support the Open SAN file system. If not, check Fibre Channel adapter
cabling to be sure that the FC IP and SCSI connections are not reversed. Also
refer to
“If you have a problem: UIM-SAN-GEIP” on page 116 .
2. Insert the Open SAN File System CD-ROM into the UIM-SAN-FCIP’s CD-ROM
