Interpreting front panel and rear panel indicators
The Dell server used to implement the UIM provides front and rear panel status
indicators. These are useful during system boot-up and operation for monitoring
hardware and software status. To learn about these status indicators, refer to the
Installation and Troubleshooting documentation located on the Dell Product
Documentation CD provided with the UIM that you received with the UIM.
Configuring data transfer timeouts
Problems can occur with archive restore when a clip spans multiple tapes. The large
stall in the data transfer may exceed the 60 second timeout of the UIM. For sites that
are expected to have large stalls in their data transfers, the default timeouts can be
overwritten via registry settings.
Set the following values:
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\ftpd
REG_DWORD "FtpSocketTimeoutSec" // time out in seconds
HKLM\Software\Grass Valley Group\Streaming
REG_DWORD "FtpSocketTimeoutSec" // time out in seconds
These settings can be applied to UIM-SAN-FCIP.
