Chapter 6 Service Information
NOTE: The following steps are not required for the UIM-SAN-FCIP.
12. Select the Intel® PRO/1000MT Quad Port Server Adapter #3 (Dell 2650) or Intel®
PRO/1000MT Dual Port Server Adapter (Dell 2850) from the list; should be
highlighted.
13. Select
Action | Add to Team | Create New Team
.
14. Select
Adapter Fault Tolerance
option from the Teaming wizard, then click
Next
.
15. The two remaining Intel PRO/1000MT ports should be listed in the Teaming
Wizard window and BOTH check-boxes should be CHECKED.
16. Click
Next
, then
Finish
to create the team.
17. Right-click on the new Team #1 entry, and select
Rename Team
.
18. Type Streaming Team in the rename team window, and click
OK
. Ensure that the
team is renamed.
19. Right-click on the first adapter listed below Streaming Team\Member Adapters
and select
Preferred Primary
.
20. Right-click on the second adapter listed below Streaming Team\Member Adapters
and select
Preferred Secondary
.
21. Click the
Apply
button to save all configuration changes.
This takes approximately one minute to complete.
Part 6 for Dell 1950: Setup Ethernet port teams
• Do not do this procedure if your UIM is based on a Dell 2650 or 2850 server
platform. Instead, do the previous procedure,
“Part 6 for Dell 2650/2850: Setup
• Do this procedure if your UIM is based on a Dell 1950 server platform.
Use this procedure to create the Ethernet port adapter fault tolerance (AFT) teams.
This procedure uses the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2 (BACS2) for the
Control Team and the Intel PROSet configuration utility for the Streaming Team.
1. In the Windows Desktop system tray, double-click the Control Suite icon.
The Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2 opens.
2. Click
Tools | Create a Team
.
The Teaming Wizard opens to the Welcome page
3. Click
Next
.
The Team Name page opens.
4. Type
Control Team
. Click
Next
.
The Team Type page opens.
5. Select
Smart Load Balancing and Failover
. Click
Next
.
The Assigning Team Members page opens.
6. Do the following:
a. From the Available Adapters list, select a Broadcom adapter and then click
Add
.
