Restoring the system disk image
1. If restoring from the generic factory image, locate the Windows operating system
software license shipped with your UIM. You’ll need the license number during
this procedure. Also refer to
“Using a generic rebuild CD” on page 125
.
2. Insert the UIM Restore Program CD. If there are multiple CDs in the set, insert the
last volume. Then restart the machine.
The machine boots from the disc. The Acronis True Image program loads.
3. At the startup screen, select
True Image Server (Full Version)
.
4. Under “Pick a Task”, select
Recovery
.
The Recovery Data Wizard opens.
5. On the first page, click
Next
.
The Archive Selection page opens.
6. In the tree view, do one of the following:
• If restoring from an image on the D: partition, expand the node for the D:
partition and select the image file, then click
Next
.
• If restoring from an image on a CD, expand the node for the CD and select the
image file, then click
Next
.
The Restoration Type Selection page opens.
7. Select
Restore disks or partitions
and then click
Next
.
The Partition or Disk to Restore page opens.
8. Check the box next to
C Drive
and then click
Next
.
The Restored Partition Resizing page opens.
9. Select
No, I do not want to resize partitions
and then click
Next
.
10. The Restored Partition Location page opens.
11. Select
C Drive
and then click
Next
.
12. If
C Drive
cannot be selected, go back to the Restored Partitions Resizing page and
select
Yes, I want to resize partitions
.
The Restored Partition Type page opens.
13. Select
Active
and then click
Next
.
The Restored Partition Size page opens.
14. Do not make any selections. Click
Next
.
The Next Selection page opens.
15. Select
No, I do not
and then click
Next
.
The Restore Operation option page opens.
16. Do not make any selections. Click
Next
.
The Verify Procedure page opens.
17. Verify that you are restoring partitions. Click
Proceed
.
A page opens and displays progress.
18. Insert CDs as prompted. As messages appear asking for disks, insert CDs
sequentially and click
Retry
.
