adapter software. If you still cannot establish an Ethernet hardware connection, call
Grass Valley Product Support.
4. At the Windows command prompt, ping the each device in the system by host
name.
Examples:
ping SAN1_XP1_fc0
ping SAN1_FSM1
5. If there is no reply from one of the devices, do the following:
a. Note the IP address reported by the ping utility.
b. On the device, use Windows Network Settings to check the IP address setting of
the Fibre Channel adapter.
c. Correct the settings if needed, then test again.
d. Do one of the following:
- If you cannot establish a Fibre Channel IP connection, contact Grass Valley
Product Support.

- If the Fibre Channel and Ethernet connections to all devices are good, then,
“Step 7: Check Ethernet switch status”

Step 6: Check Ethernet switch status
The Intel PROSet software used with the Ethernet adapters contains a useful switch
diagnostic to test switch settings. This is especially useful in testing redundant
Ethernet topologies.
To test the switch:
1. On the UIM, right-click the My Network Places desktop icon, then select
Properties
to open the Network and Dial-up Connections dialog box.
2. Select one of the teams listed.
3. Click the
Team Configuration
tab.
4. Click the
Test Switch
button.
5. Read the results displayed. Correct as needed.
