Install dual port Ethernet board (optional)

document Installing a circuit board in a Profile XP Media Platform that you received
with the dual port Ethernet board for more information on installing or moving
boards.

If the dual port Ethernet board is already installed in the Profile XP system but it is
not in the correct slot, you must move it to the correct slot.

To move a previously installed dual port Ethernet board, do the following:

1. Record the current Ethernet network settings.

2. Remove the dual port Ethernet adapter.

3. Move the board to the correct slot. Do not re-install the dual port Ethernet driver at

this time.

After the board is installed in the correct slot, do the following:

1. Connect Ethernet cable or cables to the dual ports.

2. Power on the Profile XP Media Platform and continue with the next procedure

“Upgrade Profile System Software”

. Do not install the dual port Ethernet driver at

this time.

3. Proceed to the next section,

“Upgrade Profile System Software”

Upgrade Profile System Software

Refer to

“Software requirements” on page 20

to determine the system software

requirements for your Profile XP system. Install this version now, especially if you
moved boards in the previous procedure

“Install dual port Ethernet board (optional)”

.

To upgrade Profile System Software for operation with UIM:

1. Power on the Profile XP system and log on as administrator (default password:

triton).

2. Verify Profile System Software version using the following steps.

a. Click

Start | Programs | Profile Applications | Configuration Manager

and check

the version number displayed at

Help | About

.

b. Refer to

“Software requirements” on page 20

to determine Profile System

Software required.

c. Install the required Profile System Software. The installation instructions are
