Chapter 4 UIM-SAN-GEIP Installation: Grass Valley Open SAN System
Perform miscellaneous system settings
Perform the following procedures to configure system settings.
Add TCP/IP service registry setting
Perform the following steps to use Registry Editor to modify TCP/IP service
parameters.
1. Start Registry Editor by clicking Start | Run , then type regedit and click OK .
2. Expand the tree to locate and select the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
3. In the Registry Editor main menu, click Edit | New | DWORD Value .
4. For the new DWORD value name, type the following, then press Enter .
DisableDHCPMediaSense
5. Double-click the new DWORD value, and enter a Value data of 1, then click OK .
6. Proceed to “Add CVFS Multipath disable setting” .
Add CVFS Multipath disable setting
Perform the following steps to use Registry Editor to add the CVFS Fibre Channel
multipath disable entry.
1. Start Registry Editor by clicking Start | Run , then type regedit and click OK .
2. In Registry Editor, expand the tree to locate and select the following:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ADIC\CentraVision File System\1
3. In the Registry Editor main menu, click Edit | New | DWORD Value .
4. For the new DWORD value name, type the following, then press Enter .
NoMultiplePaths
5. Double-click the new DWORD value, and enter a Value data of 1, then click OK .
6. Close Registry Editor.
Set Control Team to top priority
For the UIM-SAN-GEIP, ensure that the machine's Control adapter team has top
priority.
1. Click through Start |Settings | Control Panel | Network and Dial-up Connections .
2. In the main menu of the window that appears, click Advanced | Advanced Settings .
3. Under the Adapters and Bindings tab, observe that the Control Team - … Ports A/
B has top priority, followed by Streaming Team - … Ports C & D. If this is not the
case, select adapters as appropriate and use the up and down arrow dialog buttons
to order them correctly.
The remaining adapter icons should be located below the teams. Their order is
irrelevant.
4. Click OK .
