Encoding Mode
Previously, VGA Grid HD Encoders could be used in one of two modes. The normal mode was called Slave
encoder mode (in this mode the device configuration is controlled by the Networked VGA Grid). The secondary
mode was called Encoding mode (in this mode the device is used as a channel encoder).
As of release 3.14.1, Encoding mode is no longer supported for VGA Grid HD Encoders. Your Networked
VGA Grid with firmware 3.14.1 will not work with encoders using older firmware. They must also be upgraded.
During upgrade, VGA Grid HD Encoders automatically convert to the equivalent of Slave encoder mode.
To recreate your channels with upgraded VGA Grid HD Encoders, follow the steps in these two sections of the
manual:
l
Add an encoder to the VGA Grid
l
Add an encoder as a source for a multi-source channel
