Geographic Location Codes
Geographic centroid Location Codes indicate the quality of two location attributes: the geographic
location and area type.The
Structure of Geographic Location Codes
table shows how the
geographic centroid Location Codes are formatted.
The
Geographic Location Codes (G Codes)
table provides a detailed description of the
geographic centroid Location Codes. These always begin with the letter G.
Location Code Not Available
A Location Code of E indicates a Location Code is not available. This usually occurs when you have
requested ZIP Code centroids of a high quality, and one is not available for that match. This occurs
infrequently when the address dictionary does not have a 5-digit centroid location. An E Location
Code is also returned when the input address cannot be standardized and there is no input ZIP
Code. In that case, because the ZIP Code returned with the non-standardized address may not be
correct, MapMarker does not return geocoding or Census Block information.
Using Status Codes
In the Desktop application, geocoded tables can include output columns for Result Codes, Match
Codes, and Location Codes (if the appropriate output address columns are mapped). See
the Georesult Dialog on page 133
