Entering a Database Waypoint
To enter a waypoint in the Enter Waypoint text box:
1. Type the waypoint name, identifier, or city name in the Enter Waypoint text
box.
If the name you are looking for has more than one word (e.g.”Colorado
Springs”), put it in quotation marks. Otherwise, the program identifies the two
words as multiple waypoints (see
Creating a Route Using the Quick Plan
The Select Waypoint list opens with all the matches for the entry. When you
search for an airport name that begins with a frequently used word, such as
"San" or "New", place it in quotation marks and add a space after the word.
For example, use "SAN " rather than "SAN".
TIP
If you are using a pointing device, you can also click or touch the navaid on
the enroute chart, and the Enter Waypoint text box automatically enters
the information. If it did not enter what you wanted, zoom in closer and try
again.
2. FliteDeck displays the most likely match for that waypoint to the right of the
Enter Waypoint text box.
• If the message No Waypoint appears, it means there is not a match
for the entry in your data coverage.
