Security in Vision
7.1 Default User
When Vision software is installed, a default user NIRS with the password NIRS is created. This user ID
and password should be used for log-in into Vision the first time.
The default NIRS user is a system manager. It has access to all software functions, including security
set-up.
7.2 Security Access Levels
Vision allows you to create four types of users: System Manager, Developer, Operator and Routine
Analysis Operator. These types of users differ by the level of access to software functions.
7.2.1 System Manager
The System Manger has access to all software functions, including security and 21 CFR Part 11
functions. In particular, the system manager can create new users, including other system managers.
The System Manager has access to all projects that exist. S/he also has access to all libraries.
System Managers can grant access to their projects to other users at the developer or operator level.
In order to grant access to a project:
1. If necessary, switch to Data Acquisition mode.
2. Open the project to which you want to grant access.
3. Click on File/Project/Edit Users.
4. The Edit Project User Access window lists all developers and operators.
