If you choose to Acquire new data, Vision will try to connect the instrument. The Select Data
Collection Method dialog box appears.
Click on New if you do not have any DCMs in the Project. Follow the instructions below on how to
create a DCM.
Highlight the name of the Data Collection Method and click on OK.
3.2.2 Creating a Data Collection Method (DCM)
From the Select Data Collection Method dialog box click on New.
In the Edit Data Collection Method window, enter the data acquisition parameters:
• Method name
• Instrument model and the wavelength range
• Sampling module, cell type, and detector type
• Number of scans for sample and reference spectra and the gain
• When appropriate, define the sample and reference position
• Reference Standardization status is always the same as in the Project and cannot be changed.
This must be set in Project Options.
• Click on OK when done.
