To define a target on the primary storage system (System1), issue the following command:

—Name of the target system (System2).

IP

—Defines link as an IP link

—Location on the current system (System1) that contains the IP connections

to the target system, expressed as node:slot:port.

—Link IP address for the corresponding port on the target system

(for example, XXX.XX.2.10 or XXX.XX.2.11).

For RCFC:

# creatercopytarget FC

where:

—Name of the target system (System2).

FC

—Defines link as an FC link.

—WWN of the node on the target system.

—Location on the current system (System1) of the FC adaptor port,

expressed as node:slot:port, and the WWN of the corresponding port on the target
system.

NOTE:

On each node, you can configure only one link per target definition.

Problem

If link performance is below standard, HP 3PAR
Remote Copy does not admit the link. For more
information, see:

“Checking RCIP Link Throughput and Latency”
(page 33)

Before admitting a link to a target definition, HP 3PAR Remote
Copy checks its throughput and latency, which may be
inadequate.

Setting Up the Backup System for Unidirectional Remote Copy

When you set up the links on the backup storage system, you create the links in the opposite
direction. Follow these steps to set up the backup system:

To start HP 3PAR Remote Copy on the backup storage system (System2), issue the following
