To summarize the switchover:
•
Synchronous remote-copy volumes are created on source and target arrays using the same
WWN addresses.
•
The source and target volumes are exported to the same host set from both arrays using
different target port groups supported by persona 11 (VMware).
•
Using ALUA, paths to the source volumes are presented as active, and paths to target volumes
are presented as standby.
•
The HP 3PAR Quorum Witness—which must be on a third site—is configured and connected
to both arrays by using a non-remote-copy link.
Manual Transparent Switchover
A manual transparent switchover is initiated by issuing the setrcopygroup switchover
command on a remote-copy group-by-group basis on the current primary storage system. The
following sequence of actions is executed as part of the switchover operation (see
):
1.
The source array target port group is changed to transition state.
2.
The source array sends a remote failover request to the secondary array.
3.
The target array target port group is changed to transition state.
4.
The target array takes a recovery point snapshot.
