M-to-N Configuration

In an M-to-N remote-copy configuration, bidirectional data replication takes place in a 4x4 fan-in,
fan-out configuration.

Data replication occurs without the need for dedicated remote-copy pairs.

The transport layer can be RCFC, RCIP, or FCIP, or a mixture of these, with up to five links per
node. Only one RCIP link per node is possible; the other links may be RCFC or FCIP.

To change the transport layer between the members of a remote-copy pair, you must first remove
the targets and set up all of the groups again.

Replication modes can be either synchronous or asynchronous periodic, or a mixture of these.

Up to 6000 virtual volumes (VVs) can be replicated.

M-to-N configurations are supported on the following HP 3PAR StoreServ systems:

HP 3PAR StoreServ 10800 Storage

HP 3PAR StoreServ 10400 Storage

HP 3PAR StoreServ 7450 Storage

HP 3PAR StoreServ 7400 Storage

HP 3PAR StoreServ 7200 Storage

HP 3PAR F-Class Storage

HP 3PAR T-Class Storage
