Safety Precautions
The following general safety precautions must be observed during all phases of
operation, service, and repair of this instrument. Failure to comply with these precautions
or with specific WARNINGS given elsewhere in this manual violates safety standards of
design, manufacture, and intended use of the instrument. Yokogawa Electric Corporation
assumes no liability for the customer's failure to comply with these requirements.
WARNING
This service manual is to be used by properly trained personnel only. To avoid
personal injury, do not perform any servicing unless you are qualified to do so.
Refer to the safety precautions prior to performing any service. Even if servicing is
carried out by qualified personnel according to this service manual, YOKOGAWA
assumes no responsibility for any result occurring from this servicing.
Use the Correct Power Supply
Ensure the source voltage matches the voltage of the power supply before turning
ON the power.
Connect the Protective Grounding Terminal
Make sure to connect the protective grounding to prevent electric shock before
turning ON the power .
Do Not Impair the Protective Grounding
Never cut off the internal or external protective earth wire or disconnect the wiring
of the protective earth terminal. Doing so invalidates the protective functions of the
instrument and poses a potential shock hazard.
Do Not Operate with Defective Protective Grounding or Fuse
Do not operate the instrument it the protective earth or fuse might be defective.
Make sure to check them before operation.
Do Not Use in the Presence of Flammable Liquids, Vapors, and Dust
Do not use the instrument in the presence of flammable liquids, vapors, and dust.
Operation in such environments constitutes a safety hazard.
Do Not Remove Covers
The cover should be removed by YOKOGAWA’s qualified personnel only. Opening
the cover is dangerous, because some areas inside the instrument have high
voltages.
Ground the Instrument before Making External Connections
Connect the projective grounding before connecting to the item under measurement
or to an external control unit.
Damage to the Protective Structure
Operating the instrument in a manner not described in this manual may damage its
protective structure.
