#6 — NO PROBE DETECTED is Displayed

Indicating that there is no response from the level probe:

a. Number of Probes programmed doesn’t equal No. of wired probes. Reprogram.
b. Wrong cable used or the cable run is too long for the type of cable used. Review

installation requirements and replace cable as required.

c. Probes are grounded incorrectly. Review installation instructions and ground as

indicated.

d. Loose or defective wiring between probe and unit. Check, tighten terminals, or

rewire as required.

e. Wire nuts used for connections. Replace with crimp type butt-splice connectors.
f.

Water in junction boxes or conduits. Remove water, rewire / re-splice (use the
INCON approved moisture resistant connectors), test probe.

g. Measure voltage at J2 between + and – terminals where the wiring connects to the

main system PC Board. The voltage should be in a range of 19 to 24 + VDC. If no
voltage is not present, or not within the good range, then the cause may be:
i.

Faulty probe component, or

ii.

Main System PC board damaged — contact the factory for help.

#7 — PROBE SYNC is Displayed

Indicating that the system cannot synchronize on probe data.

a. Wrong cable used or the cable run is too long for the type of cable used. Review

installation requirements and replace cable as required.

b. Probe is grounded incorrectly. Review installation instructions and ground as

indicated.

c. Loose or defective wiring between probe and unit. Check and replace as

necessary.

d. Water in junction boxes or conduits. Remove water, rewire or re-splice, test probe,

then seal wiring and cable-ends with the INCON approved, moisture resistant
connectors.

e. Faulty probe or Main PC Board component — contact the factory for help.

#8 — FLOAT MISSING is Displayed

Indicating that the probe is unable to determine the position of the water float.
a. Wrong cable used or the cable run is too long for the type of cable used. Review

installation requirements and replace cable as required.

b. Probe is grounded incorrectly. Review installation instructions and ground as

indicated.

c. Loose or defective wiring between probe and unit. Check and replace as

necessary.

d. Float was not installed or the probe was installed without float retainer clips - float is

lost. Install/reinstall float(s) with float retainer clips.
