10. Place the new battery next to the original one, but do not disconnect the original
one.
11. Connect the new battery to the connectors on the secondary (unused) battery
cable. Make sure the positive and negative connections are correct. See
NOTE: If battery power is removed from the robot, factory calibration
data may be lost, requiring robot recalibration by Adept personnel.
12. Once the new battery is connected, you can disconnect and remove the original
battery.
NOTE: Dispose of the battery according to all local and national
environmental regulations regarding electronic components.
13. Place the new battery in the original location in the base of the robot.
14. Close the robot by reversing the steps in the beginning of this procedure.

Replacing a Platform

NOTE: Refer to
“Attaching the Outer Arms and Platform” on page 46
details on installing the outer arms. Removal is the reverse of installation.
1. Remove the four pairs of outer arms from the four pairs of ball studs on the
installed platform.
CAUTION:
Do not overstretch the outer-arm springs.
Separate the ball-joint sockets only enough to fit them over
the ball studs.
