SNMPv3 Access Mode This field displays the SNMPv3 Access Mode. If the value

is set to

ReadWrite,

the SNMPv3 user is able to set and retrieve

parameters on the system. If the value is set to

ReadOnly,

the

SNMPv3 user is only able to retrieve parameter information. The
SNMPv3 access mode may be different than the CLI and Web access
mode.

SNMPv3 Authentication This field displays the authentication protocol to be used

for the specified login user.

SNMPv3 Encryption This field displays the encryption protocol to be used for the

specified login user.

SNMP Commands

This section describes the commands you use to configure Simple Network
Management Protocol (SNMP) on the switch. You can configure the switch to act as an
SNMP agent so that it can communicate with SNMP managers on your network.

6.6.1

snmp-server

This command sets the name and the physical location of the switch, and the
organization responsible for the network. The range for

6.6.2

snmp-server bind

This command specifies the port to bind to the SNMP server. If no port is specified

(“no”-command), the SNMP server is listening on the address specified for the

serviceport or the network (in this order) if specified. With this command it can be

selected on which address (serviceport/network) the SNMP server should listen. If for

the specified port no address exists, the server is not started.

This command adds (and names) a new SNMP community. A community
