The Recovery file is replaced after a successful restart, so if you would like us to try to do this, please
copy the log files to USB using System Settings before loading a previously saved version or selecting
Resume.

In the unlikely event that the console does not automatically return to the Welcome screen, you can
manually restart the console - see

Making a crash or bug report

Copying Log Files to USB

When you have time after a crash or other issue, please connect your USB stick to the console and
copy the log files to USB.
This can be done from the Browser or from System Settings:

• BROWSER>FILES>COPY LOG FILES TO USB

• System Settings > Utilities tab, “Copy Log files to USB…”

• Now follow the Wizard

This Wizard will copy to log files into a ".zip" archive on that USB stick in the “System Logs” folder,
named using the date and time the logs were saved.

If you have the time, try to reproduce the problem by repeating your actions.
If you can send us a description of how to repeat the problem reliably, it makes it much easier and
quicker for us to determine the cause of the issue and thus how to correct it.

Sending the report to ETC:
Email the “.zip” archive to

[email protected]

along with your play file and the following

information:

Date and approximate time the event occurred.
Your Name
Phone/fax/email (So we can contact you to help)
Cobalt Software version: (See About Cobalt in the Browser or lower half of the Welcome Screen.
Please include all numbers)
Description of what you were doing at the time, and what occurred. Give as much detail as you can.

For example:
1. I was trying to edit Preset 876.4 while Live on stage.
2. I started to crossfade manually
3. I got a crash with a message: "Invalid memory access in FILE main.cpp LINE 37, tried to access
location 0x000000"
4. It is repeatable following 1 & 2 with my show file

Please include any details that you think could be relevant. It is often fastest to take a photo of an error
message rather than trying to copy it down.
