Note that an asterisk (*) appears before the command prompt to remind you that changes have been

made to the HP VMA SAN Gateway, which have not yet been saved.

In this example, the

write memory

command is used to save changes to the configuration:

Switching Configuration Files

To switch to another configuration file, save the current configuration to a specified file name using

the

configuration write to

> command.

WARNING!

If the system IP address and connectivity information has changed from previous configurations,

switching to different configuration file will disconnect users.

In the following example, the

configuration write to cf1

command i s used to save the

configuration to a file named

cf1

and to make that file the active configuration file:

You can switch configuration files from the HP VMA Web Interface, as described in

Managing

Configuration Files

on page 132.

Saving Without Switching Configuration Files

To save the current configuration to a different file, without making the new file the active

configuration file, use the

no-switch

option of the

configuration write to

command.

The

no-switch

option can be used to save an interim configuration which you will finish later.

Saving with the

no-switch

option does not change a configuration’s unsaved status (indicated by

an asterisk in the CLI), because recent changes are still not stored in the active configuration file.
