Setting Security
IntelliTrack Stockroom contains a built-in security feature that allows you
to control what functions each user may use. This security is “function
based” security because it controls the user’s access to a specific system
function. To use system security, you need to configure the security func-
tion level; then add users, assign a user security access level to each user,
and activate security.
Security
Privileges
Certain areas of the application are found in the Security Privileges form:
•
Tools Command Tab, Security Command Set
•
Tools Command Tab
•
Portable Command Tab
•
Manage Command Tab, Stock Command Set options
•
Import Command Tab, Import/Export Command Set options
•
Manage Command Tab, Inventory Command Set options
Each area is assigned an access level by the Administrator, which is used
to assign security rights to each user.
Note: Any option within these options contains the same access level as
the “parent” option.
For more information about establishing security privilege access levels,
please refer to
Assigning Security Privileges to System Areas on page 46
.
System Users
System users are added by the Administrator. Each user is assigned an
access level, which grants or denies the user access to security privileges.
For more information about setting up system users, please refer to
.
Important: To define or modify security rights you must have Administra-
tor access to the application.
Activating
Security
Security is not enabled at application startup. After you set security access
privileges and add users, make sure that security is activated.
