Diagnostic Test Exceptions
There are certain boards on which you will not be able to run diagnostics. They are
listed below. In addition, the RS-422 board requires user interaction and is handled
differently.
• Pentium CPU board.
• VGA board.
• Ethernet LAN board.
• SCSI board.
• RS-422 board.
Pentium Board (Slot J1)
The Pentium CPU cannot be specifically tested, However, selecting the board
provides information as to certain system hardware and the board’s status. See
Figure 4-10 for an example.

The Installed Hardware panel provides basic hardware information which the system
sees. If there are any blanks or
None
where there should be an entry, you will have to
perform other troubleshooting or replace the Pentium board. For example, if no entry
appears opposite Floppy Disk A, investigate whether the Floppy Disk is mounted,
accessible, etc. With no Floppy Disk problems, replace the Pentium board.
The System Status panel shows the status of essential system requirements. For any
error in this area, replace the Pentium board.
