Distribution Board
The Distribution Board mounts to a plate attached to the left side of the chassis in the
Media Disk Drive area. Removal and replacement of the board does not require
removal of the chassis from the rack or removal of the rear cover. Removal and
replacement does require removal of the fan tray, media disk drives, and disk drive
tray.
To remove the Distribution Board:
1. Perform the Fan Tray removal procedure, except, at the Distribution board,
disconnect the cable from the Fan board (page 6-18).
2. Perform the disk drive tray removal procedure (page 6-22).
3. Disconnect the remaining cables from the Distribution board (1 in Figure 6-14).
4. Use the Torx tool with the T15 tip to remove the screws which attach the Distribution
Board to the plate at the side of the chassis (2 in Figure 6-14).
To replace the Distribution Board:
1. Use the Torx tool with the T15 tip to attach the Distribution Board to the plate at the
side of the chassis with the screws previously removed.
2. Reconnect all cables to the Distribution board, except the cable from the Fan board.
3. Perform the Fan Tray reinstallation procedure (page 6-19).
4. Reconnect the cable from the Fan board to the Distribution Board.
5. Perform the disk drive tray reinstallation procedure (page 6-22).
