Repair Verification
After any removal and replacement procedure, verify that the PDR200 is operational
before placing back in service. Before verification testing, if drives were replaced,
Grass Valley Group recommends rebuilding the disk file system.
Rebuilding the Disk File System
NOTE: Under normal circumstances the VdrPanel will start automatically when
you bring up the PDR 200, but it is important to run the PDR200 Disk Utility before
you start the VdrPanel. The following step opens the login window when you power
up the PDR200, which prevents the VdrPanel from starting automatically.
1. Hold down the shift key as you turn on the PDR200 and continue to hold it down
during the start up process until the login window appears.
2. Login as administrator.
For Username, enter:
administrator
For Password, enter:
triton
3. Double-click the
PDR Disk Utility
in the
PDR Applications
group.
4. Check the listing of SCSI drives in the C:\PROFILE\load960.exe window. The list
should include all installed drive IDs (e.g., A3-A6, C3-C6). If any of the drive IDs do
not appear, shut down the PDR 200 and check the installation of the cables inside the
chassis.
5. Use the PDR Disk Utility to arrange the hard disks in logical groups. Refer to ‘Using
the PDR Disk Utility’ in the Profile User Manual for information and instructions.
6. Log off and reboot.
Testing
To test the PDR200 after repair:
1. Turn power on and ensure login name is not administrator. If the PDR200 goes
through normal power-on self testing the VdrPanel should appear.
2. Perform the function in process before the failure.
