Boards
The removal and installation of boards in slots requires removal of both covers and
the removal of the two board retainer brackets. Note that removal of the Profile
chassis from the rack simplifies the removal of boards and other parts housed in the
board area.
One of the board retainer brackets is slotted so that it holds full-size boards in place
and helps maintain their alignment. The other bracket holds short boards in place, but
must also be removed to remove any full-size board. This bracket has extenders which
may be moved to adapt to the locations of any short board(s).
Board Retainer Brackets
The retainer bracket at the rear of the boards keeps the boards seated in their sockets.
The bracket fits directly on top of the full-size boards and requires extenders to reach
shorter boards. The extenders can be moved to different positions to accommodate
changes to the board configuration (Figure 6-17).
Figure 6-17. Rear Board Retainer Bracket
The slotted bracket in the center of the board area maintains proper spacing of the
full-size boards. The bracket only contacts full-size boards, but must be removed to
remove or install any board.
