Chapter 5: Maintenance
WARNING: Lockout and tagout power before servicing.
WARNING: The procedures and replacement of parts
mentioned in this section should be performed only by
skilled or instructed persons, as defined in the
Adept
Robot Safety Guide
. The access covers on the robot and the
AIB and eAIB are not interlocked—turn off and
disconnect power if these have to be removed.
5.3 Checking Safety Systems
These tests should be done every six months.
1. Test operation of:
l
E-Stop button on Front Panel
l
E-Stop button on the optional pendant
l
Enabling switch on the optional pendant
l
Auto/Manual switch on Front Panel
NOTE: Operating any of the above switches should disable high power.
2. Test operation of any external (user supplied) E-Stop buttons.
3. Test operation of barrier interlocks, etc.
5.4 Checking Robot Mounting Bolts
Check the tightness of the base mounting bolts after one week, and then every 6 months.
Tighten to 85 N
·
m (65 ft-lbf). Also check the tightness of all cover plate screws.
