Select Text and Pictures
To select text or a picture using the mouse
To select... Do this...
any text
Position the mouse pointer at the beginning of a text block and click and hold down the
primary mouse button as you drag over the text you want to select.
graphic/picture Click the graphic/picture to resize it, adjust the baseline or delete it.
word Double-click the word.
paragraph
Position the mouse anywhere in the paragraph you want to select and click the mouse
button quickly three times.
block of text
Click at the beginning of the text block, move the mouse pointer to the end of the text block,
hold down the Shift key, and click the mouse button again.
To select text using the keyboard
Position the cursor (insertion point) at the beginning of the text that you want to select. Press the keys shown below to select
text or to extend the selection area.
