Searching system logs for events
Many events of the DVR, such as operation, alarm and notification, are logged
into the system logs. They can be viewed and exported at any time.
Up to 2000 log files can be viewed at once.
Log files can also be exported onto a USB device. The exported file is named
according to the time it was exported. For example: 201
3 0729124841logBack.txt.
Note: Connect the backup device, such as a USB flash drive, to the DVR before
commencing the log search.
To search and export log files:
1. From the menu toolbar, click System Settings > Log Search .
2. Enter the search parameters and click Search to begin the search. The logs
matching the search criteria are displayed.
3. To view more detail information about a particular log entry, select the entry
and click or double-click the log entry.
4. If available, you can also view the associated video to the selected log entry
by clicking its play button .
5. To export log entries, select the desired logs and click Export .
6. Click Back to return to live view.
