Chapter 16

Configuration File

A configuration file is a file that contains all of the existing configurations
and settings for a switch. You can upload the configuration file and
modify the switch settings and then download the configuration file
back to the switch or onto multiple switches that you want to have the
same configurations. The switch(es) will then update their
configuration(s) based on the settings in the configuration file. This
chapter explains how to download a configuration file to reset the
switch parameters and how to upload current switch configurations as a
file to save on your server.

You can upload and download configuration files using either of the
following methods:

❑ XModem

❑ Trivial File Transfer Protocol
