Further description of the Fieldbus Node deviceNet
• The DeviceNet is a field bus system based upon the CAN protocol (Controller Area Network). It allows for
the networking of actors and sensors (slaves) with superior controllers (master).
• In DeviceNet, the valve island is a slave according to the fixed and pre-defined master/slave connection set
of the DeviceNet specifications. As an I/O connection variant, polled and bit strobed I/O and Change of
State (COS) are supported.
• With DeviceNet, one decides between higher priority cyclic or event-driven process messages that are sent
and lower priority acyclic management messages (Explicit Messages).
