dEVIcENET
The task of the bus system is the high-speed serial connection of decentralized peripheral elements with the
central master (controller). Diagnostic data is transmitted in addition to the input / output data.
DeviceNet-Master (controllers) requires a configuration program. This program requires an Electronic Data
Sheet (EDS) file containing bus-specific data.
Data of the cANopen (excerpt)
Available baud rates
125 / 250 / 500 kbaud
Data volume without RIO expansion
2 input and 2 output bytes
Data volume with RIO 8645 expansion or
intermediate module
2 input and 2 output bytes per expansion
Data volume with RIO 8640
4 input and output bytes
Preparation for commissioning
A precondition for successful commissioning is a correctly installed device.
Check all the plug connectors (voltage, bus) and the pneumatic connections.
Set the bus addresses.
NOTE!
Instructions for this can be found in the chapters
Installation and Configuration and Func-
tion of the Modules.
Starting Procedure
If there are RIO and/or intermediate modules in the system, these must be supplied with voltage and hence
switched on before or at least at the same time as the CANopen field bus module (FBM).
configuration
Here, using an example from the RS-Networx (Rockwell Automation), the configuration procedures are exp-
lained. Communication is done via the 1770-KFD Box.
For our example, the following structure has been chosen:
System Example
FreeLINE Type 8645, consisting of:
1 DeviceNet fieldbus module,
2 inside modules,
1 RIO 8640 and
RIO 8645,
this system is to be placed into operation.
All modules are configured with 2-byte input and output data. The RIO 8640 is the exception, and is confi-
gured with 4 input and outputs.
NOTE!
If RIO and/or inside modules are present in the system, these must be addressed first if the
desired module list is present in EEPROM.
Furthermore, all RIO and/or inside modules be supplied with current before the hub is sup-
plied with current. Otherwise, a correct actual module list cannot be created.
