Chapter 23 CONTROL SURFACES: TRICASTER
This chapter introduces the control surfaces offered by NewTek (tm) for your TriCaster ® ,
helping you to see how they complement your system and add ability to your
production setup. We will also discuss connecting to the control surfaces from your
live production system.

This powerful ‘two - stripe’, 24 switcher -column unit delivers precise control over your program, allowing
you to quickly and confidently produce your show.
23.1.1 CONNECTION AND CONFIGURATION
Connect the TC1LP control surface unit to the same *network your TriCaster is on, and connect AC power
using the supplied cord. The control surface communicates with your TriCaster across the network
connection. In addition to establishing this connection, you must pair your control surface with a specific
TriCaster unit as described next.
* The control surface and your TriCaster should be connected to the same subnet.
23.1.2 PAIRING
TriCaster automatically detects compatible control surfaces on the same network. Often there will only be
one such surface, which makes setup easy. At other times, though, you may be in an environment with more
than one surface, more than one TriCaster, or both of these conditions.
