Basic Flow of the Scanning Operation
This section explains the basic flow of scanning operations.
In order to perform a scan, you need a scanner driver and an application that supports the scanner
driver.
The following scanner drivers and image scanning applications are bundled with the scanner:
● Scanner driver
- PaperStream IP driver
● Image scanning application
- PaperStream ClickScan
- PaperStream Capture
- PaperStream Capture Pro (EVALUATION)

● Scanning procedures, operations, and scan setting items slightly vary depending on the image
scanning application and the scanner driver.

1 Turn on the scanner.
For information on how to turn on the power, refer to
How to Turn the Power ON (page 20) .
2 Load documents on the hopper.
Set the documents with the front side (scanning side) facing up.
For information on how to load documents, refer to How to Load Documents (page 48) .
3 Start an image scanning application.
4 Select a scanner driver to be used for scanning.
For some image scanning applications, selection of a scanner driver may not be needed.
