Turn the scanner off then back on.

Background Switching Mechanism Error

When a background switching mechanism error occurs, one of the following error codes appears
on the LCD of the scanner's operator panel.

F4:C2 Background switching mechanism error (ADF Front)

F4:C3 Background switching mechanism error (ADF Back)

Take the following measures.

If documents remain in the scanner, refer to

When a Paper Jam Occurs (page 159)

to remove the

documents.

Make sure that sufficient power is supplied. Do not use an extension cable.

Use the power cable and USB cable that are supplied.

Refer to

Daily Care (page 121)

to clean the inside of the ADF.

Fan Error

When a fan error occurs, the following error code appears on the LCD of the scanner's operator

F6:EC Fan Error

Motor Circuit Error

When a motor circuit error occurs, one of the following error codes appears on the LCD of the
scanner's operator panel.

H1:80 Motor circuit error (Feed 1 motor)

H1:8A Motor circuit error (Feed 2 motor)

H1:8B Motor circuit error (EXIT motor)
