f. Navigate back to the folder you located earlier, and save your custom profile
there. The profile name you supply when saving it save it will now appear in
TriCaster’s Stream Type menu list.
Note: It’s possible to create profiles that are not well suited for typical situations, and
which may cause TriCaster’s output to falter or fail. Test, test, test …

1. Exit to the Administrator desktop
2. Initialize the TriCaster video i/o drivers:
a. Go to (Windows) Start | Run.
b. In the Open text entry field, type in newtekrtme and press OK
c. A DOS prompt should pop up and run a few commands. Leave this window
open.
3. Run Flash Media Live Encoder (FMLE) by going to Start | All Programs | Adobe |Adobe
Flash Media Live Encoder 3.
(It is normal to get a couple of errors when you launch the program, just click past
them.) FMLE allows you to customize settings such as bit rate, frame rate, resolution,
etc. (For more information regarding encoding options, please visit Adobe’s help
website.)
a. For the custom profile to properly use the audio and video from the TriCaster,
make sure the Device under the Video and Audio sections are set to VT Video
Device and VT Audio Device respectively.
b. Also set the Input Size to 720x480 (NTSC) or 768x576 (PAL). From here you
may customize the other settings as you please.
4. After you have finished preparing your profile in FMLE go to File | Save Profile and
navigate to here: C:\\TriCaster\User Data\ Default User\ Stream Profiles\Flash Profiles
a. Enter the NTSC or the PAL folder as appropriate to your locale, then the 4x3 or
16x9 folder, and save your profile there.
