TALK OVER, GAIN AND MUTE
The lower halves of the Audio Simple and Advanced tabs are also identical. The uppermost row
of buttons in this pane is labeled Talk Over. This feature, available for all main input channels,
allows a presenter to instantly give audio priority to one or both of the incoming microphones.
Instead of muting the sound, enabling Talk Over reduces the levels of other channels by 6 dB.
The largest part of this section is the area
devoted to individual volume sliders. Drag up
or down to adjust levels, just as you would
when using a physical audio mixer.
The Lock buttons at the bottom illuminate in
blue when enabled, and lock two sliders
together. This is convenient when you are
using the mono input channels as stereo
pairs.
Mute buttons are supplied for each source channel, as well. These turn red when
enabled, warning you that the channel is temporarily disabled.
6.11.2 MASTER CONTROL
Finally, among features shared by all three audio tabs, note the long vertical column
at the right that controls master output and headphone levels.
The red volume knob below the two-channel VU meter display is the master output
volume. This control governs the output level for all channels.
The volume knob above provides separate control for TriCaster’s headphone output,
permitting the operator to comfortably monitor Live Output (or the Solo mix) via the
headphone connection on TriCaster’s front panel.
