Options for Program and File Storage

For program and data storage, the Allegro has 16 M or 32 M of RAM, a
user-accessible PC card slot, and a non-volatile data storage disk
referred to as C_Drive in Windows CE. The data and programs that are
stored on this disk are secure without any battery back up.

Most other Windows CE machines use RAM for program execution and
program and data storage. Unlike the Allegro, they do not have an
internal disk-on-chip. These devices may store data on a PC card.

When designing a program for the Allegro, application developers
should give the user a choice of where to install the application, and
where to store the application’s data.
