Windows CE Toolkits
Microsoft has provided Windows CE Toolkits for their Visual Basic and
Visual C++ tools in the Visual Studio. Microsoft is shifting away from
these tools for CE development. There is not a reference to these tools on
their website, but you can still find them in distribution.
You can use the Windows CE Toolkits to develop programs for the
Allegro. You need one of the following sets of tools:
1) - Microsoft Visual Basic
6.0
- Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit for Visual Basic
6.0
- Allegro Software Development Kit for Visual Basic
6.0
2) - Microsoft Visual C++
6.0
- Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit for Visual C++
6.0
- Allegro Software Development Kit for Visual C++

Installation
To install the Windows CE Toolkits you want, complete the following:
1) Install the development language you are using (Visual Basic or
Visual C++). Follow the installation instructions that came with the
development language.
2) Install the Microsoft Windows CE Toolkit that goes with the
development language.
3) Install the Allegro SDK by selecting Browse from the Allegro Utilities
CD-ROM. Two SDK files are available in the SDK folder: Allegro SDK
for Visual Basic.exe and Allegro SDK for Visual C++.exe. Double-click
on the SDK that is appropriate for your development language. The
SDK is automatically installed within the Toolkit.
