Contents of I/O Module Replacement Kit

The Allegro 2 I/O Module replacement kit

includes the following items:

„

Allegro 2 I/O module

„

Two replacement 4-40 x 11/16 screws

„

Two replacement M2 x 6 screws

„

Four replacement #2-28 x .25 screws

„

Screwdriver

Removing the I/O module

1. Remove the hand strap.
2. Remove the four screws that hold on the

bottom bumper and remove the bumper.

3. Using the provided screwdriver, loosen four

screws to remove the battery door.

4. Remove the battery.
5. Remove the four screws from the sides of

the module. See Figure 1.

6. Carefully pull straight back to remove the

module from the Allegro 2.

Installing the new I/O module

1. Inspect new module to ensure that the

pins that go into the Allegro 2 are straight

and that the rubber gasket around the

pins is in place as shown. See Figure 2.

CAUTION: if the pins are not straight, do not

attempt to straighten them or use the module.

Contact a service center for a replacement.

2. Place the tabs of the new module in the

grooves of the case. See Figure 3.

3. Align the pins with the black connector on

the main board using a slight side-to-side

rocking motion.

4. Firmly push down on board above the

pins as shown, NOT on the plastic. See

Figure 4. Push until the pins seat in the

connector and there is no gap between

the module and the Allegro 2.

CAUTION: If the module does not push in with

firm pressure, STOP. Remove the module and

re-inspect the pins to ensure they are not

damaged.

5.

Insert four provided screws—two M2 and

two 4-40—into the marked holes.

6. Tighten screws with the provided

screwdriver. Ensure they are snug, but do

not force them.

7. Replace the battery door.
8. Replace the bumper using the provided

screws.

9. Replace the hand strap.
